The Little Prince
【A fantasy-filled performance.】This musical performance starts with a monologue by an astronaut who crashed into a desert. The nostalgia-provoking play is performed by wordsmith Yuriko Ishimaru and Japan’s only contortionist actress Yuniko. The prince comes in the form of silhouette and sometimes a real child-sized doll. Comical large paper puppets play the people of the bizarre planet, and the duo’s singing and dynamic dancing bring the friendly fox into life. The mysterious snake is portrayed by contortion, a performance art rare in Japan.
